Material & Heat Treatment
A335 P22 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel grade commonly known as 2.25Cr-1Mo steel. It provides a balanced combination of high-temperature strength, creep resistance and weldability.
P22 is widely used in subcritical power plants, refinery heater headers, hydrogenation units and other elevated-temperature pressure systems.
Heat treatment includes:
• Normalizing: 900–1000°C
• Tempering: 700–800°C
The normalized and tempered heat treatment condition provides stable mechanical properties and reliable long-term performance for high-temperature service.
