F91 High Pressure Forged Tee is a forged piping component manufactured from ASTM A182 F91 alloy steel and used to form a 90-degree branch connection in high-temperature and high-pressure piping systems. ASTM A182 F91 is the forged alloy steel grade corresponding to the 9Cr-1Mo-V-Nb alloy system, typically used in conjunction with ASTM A335 P91 seamless pipe and ASTM A234 WP91 butt-welding fittings. Each product form is controlled by its respective ASTM / ASME material specification.

Material & Heat Treatment

F91 alloy steel contains Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo), Vanadium (V), Niobium (Nb), Manganese (Mn), Silicon (Si) and Carbon (C) within the limits specified by ASTM A182.

 

Chromium, molybdenum and vanadium contribute to the material's elevated-temperature mechanical properties and creep strength. Material suitability for specific service conditions, including hydrogen service, depends on operating conditions, design requirements and applicable project specifications.

 

Heat treatment is performed according to the applicable ASTM A182 requirements, qualified manufacturing procedures and purchaser specifications. Typical processing includes normalizing, tempering and other treatments specified by the material grade and applicable standard. Actual heat-treatment conditions depend on the applicable material specification, product size, forging process and project requirements.
