Material & Heat Treatment
Forged elbows are manufactured from carbon and alloy steels containing Carbon (C), Manganese (Mn), Silicon (Si), Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo), Vanadium (V) and other alloying elements within the limits specified by the applicable material standard.
Chromium, molybdenum and vanadium contribute to the material's mechanical properties and high-pressure performance. Material suitability for specific service conditions depends on operating conditions, design requirements and applicable project specifications.
Heat treatment is performed according to the applicable material specification, qualified manufacturing procedures and purchaser requirements. Typical processing may include normalizing, tempering, quenching and other treatments specified by the material grade and applicable standard. Actual heat-treatment conditions depend on the applicable material specification, product size, forging process and project requirements.

What is the difference between forged elbows and pipe bends?
