High Pressure Forged Tee

High Pressure Forged Tee is a forged piping component manufactured from carbon and alloy steel and used to form a branch connection in high-pressure piping systems. Hongcheng manufactures and supplies high pressure forged tees for refinery process piping, power plant auxiliary systems, high-pressure utility piping and other applications requiring compact, high-integrity branch connections.

Product Overview

High Pressure Forged Tee is a forged piping component manufactured from carbon and alloy steel and used to form a branch connection in high-pressure piping systems. Hongcheng manufactures and supplies high pressure forged tees for refinery process piping, power plant auxiliary systems, high-pressure utility piping and other applications requiring compact, high-integrity branch connections.

These forged tees are typically produced from materials including ASTM A105, ASTM A350 LF2, ASTM A182 F11 and ASTM A182 F22. Material selection, forging process and heat treatment are determined according to the applicable material specification, pressure class and project requirements.

Hongcheng supplies high pressure forged tees with heat treatment performed in accordance with applicable material specifications and purchaser requirements. Full material traceability, inspection documentation and project-specific technical support are available. Custom wall thickness transitions and end preparations can be supplied according to project drawings and specifications.

Material & Heat Treatment

High pressure forged tees are manufactured from carbon and alloy steels containing Carbon (C), Manganese (Mn), Silicon (Si), Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo) and other alloying elements within the limits specified by the applicable material standard.

Chromium and molybdenum contribute to the material's mechanical properties and high-pressure performance. Material suitability for specific service conditions depends on operating conditions, design requirements and applicable project specifications.

Heat treatment is performed according to the applicable material specification, qualified manufacturing procedures and purchaser requirements. Typical processing may include normalizing, tempering, quenching and other treatments specified by the material grade and applicable standard. Actual heat-treatment conditions depend on the applicable material specification, product size, forging process and project requirements.

Manufacturing Process

Raw Material Inspection → Cutting → Forging → Heat Treatment → Machining → Inspection & Testing → Marking → Packing

Forged construction is supplied according to product size, pressure class, manufacturing route and applicable specifications. Hongcheng controls forging accuracy, heat treatment, dimensional tolerances and inspection throughout the manufacturing process to meet applicable standards and purchaser specifications.

FAQs

  • Q:

What is the difference between high pressure forged tees and butt-welding tees?

    A:

High pressure forged tees are manufactured from forged steel and typically supplied in socket-weld or threaded configurations according to ASME B16.11, suitable for compact high-pressure piping. Butt-welding tees are manufactured from wrought steel and connected to the pipeline by butt welding, and are commonly used where larger pipe sizes or butt-welded connections are required.

  • Q:

What materials are available for high pressure forged tees?

    A:

High pressure forged tees can be manufactured from carbon steel (ASTM A105, ASTM A350 LF2) and alloy steel (ASTM A182 F11, ASTM A182 F22). Material selection should be confirmed against the applicable design code and project specifications.

  • Q:

What post-weld heat treatment is required for high pressure forged tees?

    A:

PWHT may be required depending on the applicable construction code, wall thickness, welding procedure and project requirements. Where welding is required, these tees should be welded using qualified procedures with preheating and PWHT applied as required by the applicable code and project specifications.

  • Q:

    What pressure classes are available?

    A:

High pressure forged tees are typically supplied in pressure classes 2000#, 3000# and 6000# for socket-weld and threaded configurations according to ASME B16.11, subject to size and project requirements.

  • Q:

    What standards are supported?

    A:

High pressure forged tees are manufactured from applicable forged steel specifications. Dimensional requirements may follow ASME B16.11 where applicable, while material, forging, heat treatment and inspection requirements are controlled according to the applicable product specification and project requirements.
